For seven days, from Tuesday, August 25 to Monday, August 31, 2026, Kigiku will hold a POP UP on the 4th floor of Sogo Yokohama Store, at the Atrium Special Event Venue.

Kigiku's dresses and bags are one-of-a-kind pieces made by taking apart kimono that have fulfilled their original purpose and remaking them into new forms.

This is an opportunity to see and feel in person the colors, patterns, and fabric textures of kimono that are difficult to convey fully through the online shop.

“I love kimono, but I have fewer opportunities to wear them.”

“Now that I am older, I want to enjoy elegant attire that feels true to me.”

For those who feel this way, we have prepared items that allow you to enjoy kimono in a more familiar way and look forward to welcoming you.

See one-of-a-kind pieces made from kimono in person

At Kigiku, we remake kimono that have been treasured for many years into dresses and bags that are easy to incorporate into modern life.

Even when made from the same bolt of fabric, a kimono can create a different impression depending on where the pattern is positioned.

For this reason, each Kigiku item has a different pattern appearance and layering of colors, and almost no two pieces are exactly alike.

These are difficult to fully appreciate from photos in the online shop alone,

“The colors when the light falls on them”
“The softness and texture of the fabric”
“The intricate beauty of the pattern”
“How your complexion looks when you wear it”

You can also take your time examining these details at the venue.

Enjoy discovering patterns that capture your heart and a piece that feels uniquely you.

Attire that mature women can enjoy effortlessly

As we grow older, the things we value when choosing clothes gradually change as well.

Not clinging too closely to the body's lines.
Subtly covering areas you may feel conscious of.
Being elegant without becoming overly flashy.
Being able to spend time comfortably, even when worn for long periods.

At Kigiku, we aim to create designs that allow women to enjoy the beauty of kimono in everyday life while responding to the feelings of mature women.

The refined colors and patterns unique to kimono are perfect for special outings, and can also be incorporated into everyday outfits depending on the accessories and shoes you pair with them.

Kimono-remade dresses that create a striking impression on their own are also recommended for those who have come to favor simpler outfits.

Cherishing and enjoying vintage kimono for years to come

Kimono hold the memories of the people who wore them and the history of the families who have passed them down.

However, many kimono are worn less often and remain stored away in chests of drawers for long periods.

Kigiku began with the desire to transform kimono passed down from grandmothers and mothers into clothing and bags that can be enjoyed in modern everyday life.

Even if it is difficult to wear a kimono as it is, changing its form allows its beauty to be preserved for years to come.

At the venue, we hope you will appreciate not only the products but also the appeal of kimono being transformed into beautiful new pieces.

A kimono-inspired drawstring pouch as a purchase gift

During the POP UP, customers who spend ¥20,000 or more including tax will receive a drawstring pouch made from kimono fabric.

This is a Kigiku-style purchase gift that makes use of the beautiful colors and patterns unique to kimono. You can use it in many everyday situations, such as storing small items or accessories and organizing your bag.

As the fabric patterns and colors differ from one piece to another, we hope you will also enjoy discovering which drawstring pouch you receive.

These gifts are available in limited quantities on a first-come, first-served basis and will be offered while supplies last. We hope you will take this opportunity to visit.

※You may not be able to choose the drawstring pouch pattern.
