Product Manufacturing Process

Using carefully selected materials and the precise manufacturing techniques of craftsmen with years of experience,

we deliver high-quality products with rich flavor.

Unraveling the Kimono

We carefully unravel the kimono that has been worn for a long time, stitch by stitch.

With each thread removed, the story woven into the fabric gradually comes to light.

Kimono Cutting

To be reborn in a new form, the fabric is cut.

To make the most of the material's pattern and texture,

we carefully consider which parts to use and how.

Laundry

The unraveled fabric is washed and purified, preparing it for its next role.

Washing restores the stiffness and shine of the kimono,

getting it ready to be given new life.

Sewing

Each stitch is carefully sewn by skilled hands, shaping the piece as it goes.

In this way, obi and kimono are transformed into

unique clothes and bags, one of a kind in the world.

Key Features

All Kigiku products are made at the welfare facility nid, and each one is unique.

By creating clothes and bags through personal experience and ingenuity,

we value each individual's personality and pace, fostering connections with society through craftsmanship.

We focus on designs that bring out the original beauty of kimono, while creating products that are comfortable and reliable to use.

From a sustainability perspective, by revitalizing kimonos that can no longer be worn without using new fabric, we not only protect the environment,

but also value passing on the sentiments embedded in the kimono.

Kigiku is also particular about selecting materials.

By choosing zippers and contrasting materials that match the fabric's color and pattern,

the pieces are finished to be suitable for both casual and formal occasions.

The handles of the tote bag are made exclusively from genuine leather. Using genuine leather for the handles makes them less likely to dig into your shoulders or arms, so they are comfortable to carry for long periods, making it perfect for outings.

Additionally, the bottom panel of the tote bag uses a black band, making it resistant to losing its shape and allowing you to carry a laptop, magazines, and more with confidence.

When making clothes and bags, we also value the handmade feel.

By deliberately not fixing the manufacturing process,

we carefully create each piece so that you can enjoy unique works that reflect the individuality and creativity of the maker.

Additionally, we strive to make clothes and bags that are easy for people to use in their daily lives.

Tote bags and clutch bags come with convenient inner pockets that can hold a lot, preventing items from getting scattered inside.

For dresses and tops, we use three-quarter sleeves to avoid highlighting the upper arms, which women tend to be concerned about. There are also short sleeves, but they are designed with a sleeve length that doesn't draw attention to the upper arms, so you can wear them with confidence.
