Happy New Year! I would like to extend my New Year's greetings.
Happy New Year! 🎍
I look forward to your continued support this year as well.
As we welcome the new year, I would like to extend my heartfelt greetings to everyone.
Thank you very much to everyone who picked up a Kigiku piece last year, who watched over our social media and online shop, and who offered warm words. Each response has been a great source of strength for continuing our craftsmanship.
Kigiku is a brand that upcycles kimonos to deliver “clothes that fit into today’s lifestyle,” such as dresses and bags.
The kimono that has been sleeping in the back of the closet holds the accumulation of time and memories. However, the reality is that there are many kimonos that are worn less and are being let go.
We will bring that fabric back into everyday life. Not just for special days, but to be worn naturally for casual outings, travel, dinner parties, and time with family.I continue to create with that feeling.
Last year was a year where I thought a lot not only about creating works but also about how to deliver them.
“I try to take photos that convey texture even through the screen,” “I increase information to reduce concerns about size,” “I carefully communicate about care and materials.”
Although it has been gradual, it has also been a year where I felt more people getting to know Kigiku and the works blending into someone's life.
And this year, I want to increase "places to meet" more than ever before.
Specifically, this year will be one where I put more effort into event exhibitions and online sales.
Exhibiting at events is an important opportunity to see and touch the works directly.
Kimono fabric has charms that cannot be fully conveyed through photos alone. The expression changes with the way light hits it, people are surprised by its lightness when they hold it, and the intricacy of the patterns catches their eye.
The moment when someone tries on a piece and says, "This length is just right," "The neckline looks beautiful," or "It seems more usable than I imagined" is truly special.
This year, I will increase the number of exhibitions and create more opportunities for people to casually engage with Kigiku.
I will announce exhibition information as soon as it is decided on SNS and the blog, so please stop by if there is an event happening nearby.
At the same time, I will enhance online sales even further.
To ensure that those far away or busy and unable to attend events can choose with confidence, I will organize the information on product pages and the blog.
For example, I want to resolve parts that might cause hesitation after purchase, such as the characteristics of materials, seasonal styling, washing methods, and storage methods, in advance.
The beauty of one-of-a-kind items is also about "encounters," but online, the time to hesitate can easily increase. Therefore, I will focus on how to present information and showcase photos, valuing both "ease of selection" and "excitement."
Additionally, I plan to continue updating the blog this year.
I want to increase content that is helpful for readers, such as the background of Kigiku's production, stories about fabrics, care unique to kimono remakes, and coordination proposals.
Regardless of whether you buy a piece or not, I would be happy if we could create articles that make you feel, "Kimono fabric is so wonderful" and "I can enjoy it this way."
Kigiku's clothes aim for a piece that subtly lifts your spirits rather than being flashy.
Clothes chosen not to compare with others, but for oneself. Clothes that make you think, "I look good today," when you catch a glimpse of yourself in the mirror during a busy day. I hope to become such a presence.
This year, while valuing the time for creation, I will continue to build up one by one so that more people can get to know Kigiku.
Once again, I hope this year will be healthy and fruitful for everyone.
Thank you for your continued support of Kigiku this year.
