About Kigiku

Kigiku is a brand that transforms old kimonos into new forms.

We create clothing and bags that resonate with our current lives while inheriting the thoughts and memories embedded in kimonos.

The production is carried out at the "Employment Continuation Support Type A Office nid" in Osaka,

where the users carefully finish each piece by hand.

The design and color combinations are conceived by each individual, resulting in unique and one-of-a-kind works.

Kigiku is a place where "someone's memories" are reborn into "something that colors someone's everyday life."

Concept

"Inheriting memories and embracing the present" is the origin of Kigiku's craftsmanship.

The kimono that has been stored away for a long time holds the memories of family and milestones in life.

By reworking that one piece into clothing or bags that can be worn again, we connect the past and the present.

We cherish such craftsmanship that is like a "baton of time."

We believe that Kigiku's clothing should be "an outfit to enjoy your own time."

Now that you've settled down with parenting and work, it's time to choose for yourself.

We hope you can enjoy a comfortable and authentic moment with Kigiku's clothing.

Origin of the Name

The brand name "Kigiku" is

named after taking one character from the names of my grandmother and mother.

“Joy” is the happiness of making someone happy.

“Chrysanthemum” is a symbol of “inheriting thoughts” as a flower that continues to bloom for a long time.

I gave my mother the kimono that my grandmother left behind, and when I saw her joyful expression,

I felt a warm cycle connecting across generations.

With the hope that this "circle of joy" continues, we named it "Kigiku".
